Alpha Multisport was founded in 2015 to provide the New Braunfels area youth with an outstanding youth triathlon training group without financial barriers. We offer all coaching and training free of charge for our youth recreational team. There is a small fee to cover insurance and registration, however no athlete will ever be turned away. We are extremely grateful to our sponsors who make our vision a reality.

We started with 11 members and have grown to over 50.

Coach Sara

Sara has been a life-long athlete -- growing-up a competitive swimmer and playing Division I Lacrosse at the Collegiate level. She is a graduate of the Johns Hopkins University of Baltimore, MD, and holds a B.S. in Materials Science Research and Engineering. As an officer in the United States Army she led by example and trained hundreds of soldiers to be in top physical condition. After years of moving around with the military, Sara and her family are happily settled in New Braunfels, TX where she works as a professional Ashtanga Yoga teacher.

Sara was introduced to the sport of Triathlon in 2012 when her then 8-year- old daughter competed in her first youth triathlon.  The entire family was immediately hooked!  Since then Sara has competed in over 100 multisport events, to include qualifying for and completing the World Ironman Championship in Kona, HI (2018).

Her love for the sport and dedication to youth involvement and development led her to become a Level 1 USAT Certified Coach.  With her family and friends support and encouragement she founded the New Braunfels Alpha Multisport Youth Triathlon Team in 2015.  Sara’s life mission is to help people of all shapes, sizes, and abilities achieve their true potential through a healthy balance of body, mind, and spiritual endeavors.

2017

Our best season yet!

50 youth athletes - 17 new to triathlon, collectively competed in over 30 multi-sport races, making it to the podium over 20 times! With a great balance of returning and new athletes, the kids helped each other learn and grow in confidence throughout the season.

4 athletes participated in the Youth and Junior Triathlon National Championships in West Chester, OH in August.  Clare Dasso defended her national title to win the girls 11 yr old championship; Faith Dasso qualified for and competed in her first Youth Elite (13-15 yrs old) National Championship and came in a strong 4th; Dakota Fisher (11 yr old) competed at Nationals for a second year with a big improvement over 2017; and Maverick Fisher (9 yr old) competed at Nationals for the first time!

2016

In order to provide the best possible coaching and development, we set season dates and only accepted kids into the program during a two-week registration period at the beginning of the season. This enabled us to “set the team” and teach triathlon from the ground up.  The team enjoyed great success this year with over 30 youth participating in various multisport events (splash & dash, duathlon, and triathlons) over the course of the 6-month season (February - July).

Highlights: Two National Champion AG finishers - Faith 12-year-old female, Clare 10-year-old female.  Clare also won the run preem for having the fastest female run split for 10 & under girls.

2015

Inaugural Season.  Over 100 kids came through the program this year.  Some stayed all season, some just for a practice or two.

Highlights: Clare finished 2nd at Nationals in the 9-year-old female AG, Faith finished 4th in the 11-year-old AG.

“Love the outlet these coaches provide to develop kids

into life-long athletes! This is a great group!”
